We Can Help Protect Your Civil Rights

Protection of our civil rights is guaranteed by the 14th Amendment to the United States Constitution, which is designed to be a remedy to state-sponsored infringement of our federally-guaranteed constitutional rights. Importantly, this amendment includes a remedy to those whose rights are violated by state and local government officials who abuse their power.

The Strafaci Law Firm, LLC takes great pride in representing and advocating for clients whose rights have been violated. Call or contact us today for a complimentary consultation. If you don’t win your civil rights case, then you don’t pay us.

Whether you would prefer to be vocal about your case in order to advocate for change or handle the violation in a private manner, our attorneys will respect and adhere to your wishes. We are experienced and knowledgeable civil rights lawyers who can represent any client in southeastern Connecticut and provide legal advice to fit their needs.

Common civil rights violations

Excessive Force Claims

Generally, police officers are permitted to use reasonable and necessary force to make an arrest where there is probable cause. When officers use improper arrest techniques or an amount of force that is completely unwarranted given the circumstances, that could be considered excessive force. Even if you are guilty of the underlying crime, the police cannot use an unreasonable type or amount of force.

Discrimination

It is illegal for an employer to take disciplinary action against you because of your race, sex, age, national origin, religion, disability, or sexual orientation. Not only that, but you are entitled to work in an environment that is free from harassment based on the aforementioned factors. Harassment is legally considered to be behavior that is so severe and pervasive that it creates a work environment that a reasonable person would consider intimidating, hostile, or abusive.

The Strafaci Law Firm, LLC takes great pride in advocating for victims of civil rights violations and pushing for positive change in our community.
